Dhis2 Data Use Academy

This local academy, organized by HISP Ethiopia, offers valuable insights into utilizing data through DHIS2.

Did you know that HISP Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has developed a mobile app called Leadership Lens within the DHIS2 platform?
Leadership Lens mobile app provides real-time data access for top-level managers, enabling data-driven decisions via DHIS2. The app dashboard displays key indicators for analysis in iOS and Android platforms.

How?
DHIS2 enables accessing and organizing diverse health data ranging from aggregate to individual level records. It provides various analytical tools to identify patterns, and visualize insights through tables, charts, and maps. Harnessing the DHIS2’s full potential facilitates the managers’ on time decision making that will transform and enhances the health systems.

Let’s delve into the new analytic features of DHIS2 version 2.40.
DHIS2 version 2.40 has come with new analytic features for flexible calculations in data visualizer (on-the-fly custom calculations), improved chart clarity, and indicator icons. Line lists streamline dashboards, map visualizations gain depth, and ownership analytic in program indicators enhance patient care insights – all fostering data-driven interventions for better population health.

HISP Ethiopia along with MOH Ethiopia and WHO has developed a pioneered cross-border pastoralist Nutrition program tracker within the DHIS2 platform. Fascinating, isn’t it?
The cross-border pastoralist Nutrition program tracker initiative aims to foster collaboration between nations to enhance health coverage by facilitating access to nutrition services and care for pastoralist communities and populations residing in remote areas along the borders of Ethiopia and Somalia. Essentially, this tracker serves as a vital tool for ensuring a seamless continuum of care.

DHIS2’s experience with national-level health information system and its flexibility makes it a perfect tool to be extended beyond the health sector. DHIS2 can be transformed for other sectors with various use cases. By utilizing the functionalities of DHIS2, it’s possible to overcoming challenges across other sectors and make informed decision.
