HISP Ethiopia participated in the closing workshop of the IMPULSE Phase II project, organized by Doctors with Africa CUAMM on May 26, 2026, in Addis Ababa. The event brought together key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, implementing facilities, and the Addis Ababa Health Bureau, to review achievements, share lessons learned, and officially close the project.
The project strengthened health service delivery and data-driven decision-making through digital health innovations. The workshop also provided a platform to reflect on results and discuss sustainability of the gains achieved.
As a key technical partner, HISP Ethiopia supported the design and implementation of digital solutions, including a DHIS2-based Newborn and Stillbirth LQAS application. The system improved routine data quality assessment by automating comparisons between source registers and HMIS-reported data across 11 key indicators.
The solution reduced manual errors, improved efficiency, and enabled real-time visualization of data quality through DHIS2 dashboards at facility, woreda, and regional levels. These dashboards enhanced monitoring, improved visibility of reporting quality, and supported evidence-based decision-making.
HISP Ethiopia also conducted capacity-building activities for data clerks, woreda health staff, and regional analysts on DHIS2, LQAS methodology, data quality analysis, and dashboard use, complemented by field support and system validation visits.

Although Phase II has concluded, the digital tools, partnerships, and knowledge developed will continue to support stronger, data-driven health systems in Ethiopia.
