BISHOFTU – From April 7–9, 2026, team members from HISP Ethiopia joined key national stakeholders for the RH/FP/AYH Integrated Supportive Supervision Tool Harmonization and Validation Workshop.
The intensive three-day collaborative session marked a major operational milestone: the formal validation of the integrated supportive supervision tool.
The Path to Digitalization via DHIS2
Validating this paper-based tool is a critical foundational step that now paves the way for its complete digital transformation. By integrating this harmonized tool into the DHIS2 platform, HISP Ethiopia and its partners are moving the health sector closer to:
-
Enhanced Operational Efficiency: Streamlining the workflow of supportive supervision teams in the field.
-
Real-Time Data Use: Transitioning from delayed reporting to active, data-driven programmatic adjustments.
-
Stronger Program Performance: Driving better clinical and community health outcomes in Reproductive Health (RH), Family Planning (FP), and Adolescent and Youth Health (AYH).
A Collaborative Achievement
The success of this workshop highlights the power of participatory design and local collaboration—core tenets of information system strengthening. HISP Ethiopia extends its sincere appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Health (MoH), the Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE), and all development partners whose unwavering commitment and technical expertise made this achievement possible.
What’s Next?
With validation complete, the initiative enters its technical phase, focusing on configuring the validated tools within DHIS2 and training core teams for implementation. Stay tuned for upcoming system updates and the next milestones in this vital initiative.
